One of these days I will get to where these bad boys breed. Until then these kind of photos from hundreds of yards away in an airport field will have to do. These were at the ILM airport viewing area. They are one of the first shorebirds to migrate back in the late summer. Granted they really are not shorebirds outside of taxonomic designation.
