Ferruginous Hawk (Buteo regalis) - 01Dec2015

Apparently the dark morph of the Ferruginous Hawk is fairly rare, maybe 10% of the birds.  So I count myself lucky that my first sighting was also a dark morph.  This bird was photographed at a sod farm somewhere between Phoenix and Tucson, AZ.
