Bachman's Sparrow (Peucaea aestivalis) - 30Mar2014

This is a specialty of southeast NC and I can get them within 30 minutes of my home.  However, this one was photographed in the Croatan in Carteret County.  If you can find a field in Long-leaf Pine habitat that was burned the previous year, you have a good chance of hearing the lovely song of the Bachman's.
