Common Crane (Grus grus) - 10Feb2025

Common Crane is one big bird that has eluded me for too long.  We have had a few in the United States as vagrants but I have always wanted to see them in their home habitat, so when I had a chance to go to the south of France this winter for a work trip, I made sure to spend some extra time so I could go see them.  The best place to see them in France is the Camargue which is a huge river delta and farming area in the very south of France near Arles.
