Southern Lapwing - 29Jul2019

Although Southern Lapwings are fairly common throughout South America, this was the first I had seen.  This is one of many species that actually benefit from human activity as they love cattle fields and other human influenced fields. Apparently in Brazil they can sometimes feed in soccer (football) fields at night while the games are being played.  This one was seen at Camino Km4 in Magdalena, Colombia.
