Parasitic Jaeger (Stercorarius parasticus) - 21Sep2015 and 12Sep2017

Here is a Jaeger that coastal Carolinians are familiar with.  They can fairly regularly be seen from the beach chasing gulls and terns especially when the winds are out of the east.

This first one was actually photographed on a Patteson pelagic out of Hatteras when I still had my old loaner camera.


The forked tail streamers are starting to form nicely on this near adult bird.


Here are some more recent shots after Hurricane Irma.  This Jaeger came in from over land, after the storm had blown it in.
