Bare-legged Owl (Margarobyas lawrencii) - 01Jan2017

This little cute owl was the only one of the species that we saw on this trip.  The guide knew exactly where it was and with a little tap on the side of the tree, he popped his head up in the opening.  This is why guides are really essential for finding those hard to see species.  Seen at Soplillar.
