Great-tailed Grackle (Quiscalus mexicanus) - 30Nov2015 & 14Apr2019 & others

The southwest's version of the Boat-tailed Grackle, they can amass in huge numbers on telephone wires in cities.  I have seen thousands in south Texas completely take over a whole city block.  The noise is deafening.  However, they are also found in great numbers south of the border.  Here is one from Cozumel Island off the Yucatan.


This female was photographed at Gilbert Ponds in AZ.


Here is a male from the Lower Rio Grande Valley in 2017.
