Willow Flycatcher (Empidonax trailii) - 05Sep2017

Empidonax flycatchers are a huge challenge any time of year but especially in the fall and off breeding territory.  They are usually pretty silent and virtually impossible to identify on visual cues alone.  We were especially luck to get one giving its trademark call in our home county of New Hanover.  This Willow oddly stuck around Burnt Mill Creek for a week or so.
