Black-thighed Grosbeak (Pheucticus tibialis) - 23Nov2016

I have seen this species the 2-3 times I have been to Altura Lodge near Poas Volcano in Costa Rica.  Love this area.  This was the first time I got a crack at a decent photo.  I think it was eating rocks much like a Crossbill does to have something to grind up the seeds it ate sitting in it's crop.  My theory at least.
