Barn Owl (Tyto alba) - 06Jan2017

A species that can be found all over the world but declining due to rodenticides and habitat loss.  I am still on the quest to photograph one in North Carolina.  This one was in Cuba, on Cayo Coco.

Here is one at the Chico Basin Ranch east of Colorado Springs, CO.

  1. Hey, me too!
Have not seen or heard one in NC and not have I seen them pop up in the FB groups. I guess Agri. areas and grasslands are not the same, so most of my area is not really habitable for them.
But near the sandy dune in the coast?
