Common Merganser (Mergus merganser) - 26Mar2018 & 21Jan2023 & 21Jun2024

Common Mergansers are..... well not common, at least in NC.  I have seen a handful but usually at great distance.  

Here is one female that was more accommodating somewhere in the middle of NC in 2023.

And another female in Colorado in 2024.

The only decent shot I have of a male bird is from a spot south of Meeker, CO in 2018.
