Red-shouldered Blackbird (Agelaius assimilis) - 01Jan2017

It is hard to get excited about a bird that looks so much like a common bird in the states.  Never the less, this close relative of the Red-winged Blackbird is only found in Zapata peninsula area of Cuba.  The good news is there are no RWBL reports in Cuba so they can't be confused.  The females actually look different than the RWBL females but I neglected to photograph the farer sex.
