I have spotted these tropical versions of our northern Pileated WP in Costa Rica, Colombia and now the Yucatan but for some reason my looks have always been distant and with poor lighting. This one was at Cenote Angelita just south of Tulum. Kind of cool how the line (hence lineated) on the malar is perfectly in line with the line on the wing edge.
