Clark's Grebe (Aechmophorus clarkii) - 03Sep2015

I will probably crush a Clark's Grebe some day soon.  This one was nice because it was hanging out with a Western Grebe allowing for close comparison.  Photographed in Elkhorn Slough, Moss Landing, CA.

White feathers surrounding the eye and yellow bill are good field marks not to mention the black on the nape is much more slender.
