Dunlin (Calidris alpina) - 11Jan2016 and others

The most common winter shorebird in NC, Dunlin can be found anywhere there is mudflats.  In the summer they have a black belly, but I think they look nicer in the winter.  Various Wilmington photos below.




Here is a breeding plumage one from the OBX.
