These Common Ringed Plovers were photographed in Iceland in 2017. They are indeed common there.
Note the combination of the white contrasting eyebrow (supercilia) and dark breastband and forehead. Semipalmated Plovers can have one or the other but not at the same time.
Below is my only ABA Area Common Ringed Plover at Pea Island, partially obscured by reeds. Not so common in the ABA Area.
