Spotted Doves are from Southeast Asia but some were released around 1915 in Los Angeles and they spread all over southern California. However, in the past 20 years they have declined for unknown reasons and now they can only be reliably found in the channel islands including Catalina which we periodically visit to relive the weekend that I proposed to my wife. That is where these were photographed.
