These beauties are found in several countries in northern South America, but I only saw them in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta at the El Dorado Nature Reserve. Luckily we stayed there for a couple days and I had several opportunities to try and get good pics at the feeders on the grounds. Its always a bit tricky identifying hummers when you have a dozen new species flying around you and you are trying to take it all in. However, this one is easy to differentiate as it has a curved bill.
