Blue-vented Hummingbird (Saucerottia hoffmanni) - 26Nov2013

This is one of the first set of bird photos I took when I first started to get serious about birds.  I am not even sure what camera it was from, but probably my wife's old Canon Rebel.  Obviously I knew nothing about camera speed settings at the time but I kind of like the photo anyhow.  We were staying at the Rancho Capulin B&B near Tarcoles on the Pacific Coast.  It was the only time I have seen this species, although it does have a wide range throughout Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
