This beauty is in the same Genus as the Blue and Steely-vented Hummingbirds even though it looks more similar to the Violet-capped Woodnymph, but that's evolution for you. Birds will converge on the same morphology independently. I always wonder what these crazy colors look like from the hummer's eye. Probably even crazier if you can imagine that. This one was at the Ukuku Lodge in Ibague, Colombia.
