When I first saw this gem, I immediately thought it looked like a cross between a Buff-bellied and a Rufous-tailed Hummingbird. Turns out all three are in the same genus along with the Honduran Emerald. Cinnamon Hummingbirds are a low lying species sticking close to the coasts of Mexico and Central America. I saw mine at Rio Lagartos on the north side of the Yucatan Peninsula.
