Gray-cowled Wood Rail (Aramides cajaneus) - 10&17Aug2022

These large rails are wide spread in South America and I saw them in both Brazil and Colombia.   These pictures are from the Pantanal in Brazil.  In the first picture, this was in a woodland habitat at Aymara Lodge in the middle section of the Pantanal.  The next two pictures were from Pousada Aguape in the southern Pantanal in a more open pond habitat.
