The Olivaceous and Grayish Piculets are very similar species with the Olivaceous being more widespread across Central and South America. The Grayish is restricted to the Cauca Valley in Colombia. We had both species on my latest trip to Colombia, and in fact saw them separated by one mountain range. This Olivaceous Piculet was seen very well at Ukuku Lodge.
