Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus) - 28Dec2015 and others

A fairly common species in NC, but I was surprised to find one on Eleuthera as well.  I have also seen them in Europe so they are far reaching.  The below photo is from Savanna Sound in Eleuthera.


Here is a nice comparison to its larger Great Black-backed cousin, taken at Cedar Island, NC.


Here is one from the winter in NC when they have "dirty" napes.  Taken on the OBX.
