Carib Grackle - 29Jul2019

Although the name of this bird would imply it would be found in the Caribbean, it is mostly found on the coasts of Colombia and Venezuela.  However, maybe that just reflects my ignorance as there are/were Island Caribs and Mainland Caribs (native Americans) of which the Caribbean was named after.   The Mainland Caribs inhabited areas in Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and Northern Brazil.  The descendants of the Caribs are still there and speak languages similar to what they spoke prior to the European invaders.  I digress, this particular Carib Grackle was photographed in Magdalena Colombia at a spot called Camino Km4.
