This is one of the few brushfinches in the genus Arremon that extends all the way from its southern range in Peru to Mexico in the north. Most brushfinches are restricted to South and Central America. They are mostly a high elevation species. My photo is taken in very low light conditions while we were waiting on some wood-quails to show up in Colombia.
