Western Wood Pewee (Contopus sordidulus) - 04Jun2021

As the name implies, this is the western US and Canada version of the Eastern Wood Pewee that breeds in the northern hemisphere but migrates to South America for the northern winter. I have seen them in multiple US states but these pictures are all from Oregon. I suspect we have more of these vagrating to North Carolina but are too alike the Eastern ones for anyone to notice especially because they are mostly silent when migrating south through my home state.
