Solitary Black Cacique (Cacicus solitarius) - 17&21Aug2022

This Cacique of central South America covers a massive range including much of Amazonia and the Pantanal, which is where I photographed these.  They don't flock, hence the name.  There are a couple of other cacique species that look similar but don't overlap in range much.  The Yellow-billed and Ecuadorian Caciques are mostly found west of the Andes.
