Could you ask for a more cute bird? We had this species several times on my second trip to Colombia. There are 9 species of Parrotlet in the genus Forpus. This species can be found in Panama, Colombia and Venezuela. The males have blue "spectacles" and the females a different shade of green. They are even more cute when a pair is perched together as they are not shy when it comes to public displays of affection (PDA). Normally PDA is kind of annoying especially in the species Homo Erectus, but with this species it is absolutely adorable.
