This particular stop in Riohacha Colombia was mainly to find this bird which is not prevalent throughout Colombia and we did see quite a few fly-by birds and they are loud so they are easy to spot. However, we never had one cooperate except for one backlit bird. Apparently this species has different sub-species that look totally different, one of which has a much more blue crown, hence the name.
