This is an Endangered Brazilian endemic restricted to a very small area in the Atlantic forest in northeast Brazil. We had ours in far northern Bahia State in Mata de São João county. The area we saw it was in the process of being developed, which is the main reason it is Endangered. It is in a genus of 11 foliage-gleaners.
