This is one of those striking birds when you see them in the field but cameras don't do them justice. Reds and Blacks are tricky with cameras and this bird has both. They have a wide spread distribution including a large area around the Amazon Basin and also a wide strip along the Atlantic forest in southeast Brazil. I saw them in several placed on my second trip to Brazil and took many photos, but I don't like any of them. This particular one was near Porto Seguro.
