This Cacique species has a wide disjunct range around the Amazon Basin and then in the southeast of South America. We had these at Fazenda Paris in Bahia State, Brazil. There are 10 Cacique species in this genus. These are gregarious colonial nesters with big pendulous nests that hang from the canopy.
